Osaka

Today is my 4th day in Japan, yet I haven't updated my blog with my photos. I've been shopping (window of cos) most of the time and went to Osaka castle yesterday and Nara today.

I love Den Den Town and Namba shopping districts. It's so big that I didn't even know I walked for few train stations. I walked from at least 10 hours per day and my right leg is almost cramped. I bought Canon IXY 10 at Den Den Town (aka Osaka Sim Lim Sq). This model is not available in Singapore yet and I got special discount at ビーク カメラ(Bic-Camera) store for 27,000 yen (370 SGD I think) excluding memory card and camera case. Other shops are selling at 36,000 yen. My 4 to 5 hour-walk in Den Den Town to look for camera really worthed. They also have something like GST refund (called VAT) but I don't have to wait till I leave Japan cos the shop just deduct 5% tax on the spot. If you are buying camera in Japan, don't buy export models (currently only Sony offers this for T10, T50, T100, etc.) which have the same price as those in Singapore. But that T series have domestic models which have no English display menu and it's a lot cheaper. That's one bad thing about Sony. The rest brands have English display functions though they don't have export model (which means the warranty only covers in Japan and it may not be even repaired outside Japan .... :( haha...) But I dun mind using a Japanese model in Singapore. :p
