改變自己
Last Sunday (30 Sept), I was soaked with sweat after queueing up for 1.5 hrs after the concert under the burning sunlight of 30'C plus, to get this autographed album of "Change Me". The audience were crazy (though not comparable to Japanese fans) and the queue was very long. I used to chase Taiwanese stars including Jolin (thanks to Albert who gave me the info of Jolin), but didn't see old people coming to support. In the queue are even 60 plus y/o grandmas and 50 y/o uncles. Anyway, I was quite happy cos I had my female idol's autograph (i.e., Jolin's) but not male idol's (Lee Hom's) until then.
I don't know why I was so unlucky to have my camera broken whenever my idols come to Singapore. But, this time is better cos my handphone camera is 2mp unlike the stupid phone when Jolin came. Nevertheless, I was standing too far this time and couldn't get a clear video of Lee Hom, and thus I'm posting someone else's video from Youtube.

NYP Interview
Watching this video clip and his call for environmental issues, I realized how unenvironmentally friendly Singapore in supermarkets and stores. Last month when my Japanese buddy and me were shopping, the cashiers asked if we were saving the earth when we refused to get more plastic bags. Actually I didn't think about it at that time. I just had too many bags and told them not to give me another bags. But, since then when I'm shopping I try to ask the cashier to give me as few plastic bags as required to save the earth. I don't have "This is not a plastic bag" brand of shopping bag or "My Bag" (from Japan), but I do try to use as few plastic bags as possible. This won't make any big change to the enviornment but if all of us use one less plastic bag a day, it means a lot to our environment. When I bought foods and groceries from supermarket in Japan, they only gave me not more than 2 plastic bags (max of 3) for one whole week of things bought unlike NTUC Fair Price giving min of 5 bags whenever I shop for one whole week, one bag for vegetable, one for meat, one for dried food, one for drinks and one for fruits.
Anyway, please change your behavior a little big and save the earth!
Translation of some part of his song "Change Me" --- "A little big change makes a big difference. Our Strength can change the world. I've been a little bit annoyed recently. Lately I've been feeling a little bit down. I want to shout out everytime I watch the news, but I don't have any swear words. Everybody knows how to relax. I change myself and notice a big difference. Friends from the new generation, we need to work hard!"
Reading it carefully, I found the lyrics really match my current feeling. I've been fed up with my life in Singapore after my Exchange and feeling down knowing that I can't go back to Japan in 1 to 2 years. Some more current crisis in Burma really made me crazy.
I just realized that he wore Red T-shirts for both NYP and Junction 8 promotions while the whole world is campaigning to support pro-democracy movements in Burma by wearing Red. I don't know Lee Hom wore it purposely or not, but am satisfied seeing my own idol wearing Red while my country is in danger. I hope we, overseas Burmese, can change a bit and make a big difference to our country!
