BKK 1 year ago

I like to remember important dates in my life.

I was walking around Bangkok last year this time. On my way to Japan for my exchange, I went to Bangkok with one of my friends. I failed to update this trip last year 'cos I was backpacking for 2 weeks before I reached my hostel in Tokyo. Life was so packed with a lot of activities during exchange program that I couldn't entertain backlogs.

Day 1: 22 Mar 2007
I went to the shopping area in the town center - Siam Paragon, Siam Square, MBK, etc. Their Discovery Centre at Siam Paragon is really nice. I prefer it to SG underwater world, except for the language. We had lunch at Paragon food court. Although a bit higher than other places, Thai foods are very cheap, compared to Singapore.

Day 2: 23 Mar 2007
We went to the Grand Palace & other temples. Actually BKK is not amazing for Burmese living in Singapore 'cos there is nothing much new for us. All those high-rises and shopping malls can be seen in Singapore and the temples, Tuk Tuk, laid back life style are not an uncommon scene in Myanmar. As a Chinese, I don't appreciate Burmese temples and culture very much, but I'd have to say that temples in Myanmar are more grand and attractive to tourists.

Day 3: 24 Mar 2007
We didn't go many places cos I had an evening flight to catch. We went for shopping again and I left for the airport around 5. But there wasn't traffic jam so I reached to the new airport very early. I killed my time having a foot massage inside the airport until 20/30 mins before boarding time. I was so worried after the massage cos I heard the announcement that my flight was taking off soon. What I hated about the new airport is that one end is very far from the other and if you are in a hurry, you may not catch the flight sometimes.

The flight to Kansai from BKK took off at night. On the flight, the guy sitting beside me was a Japanese. He made me realize that I hadn't prepared for my itinerary nor reviewed my Japanese which sucked at that time. I started getting excited and worried at that time.
