Samba's Oldies
Mood - Nostalgia
Songs - 爱情频率 (许志安 & 许慧欣)
Vivace was over and my friends asked me which club I helped today. Here are the list of clubs I've joined and participated (or still participating) within 2 year plus at SMU. Ironically I didn't help any club today. I found myself very undecisive partly because I'm interested in all clubs hehe.... Are all scorpios like that? Do they always have emotional problems like me? Do they like someone or something crazily until they are sick of it? Do they totally ignore that person or thing once they have enough of it?
But after 1 year of absence, I still love Samba Masala. I went to Samba's handover ceremony to 3rd exco in the evening. Does it mean that among all my CCA, I love Samba most? I don't know.... but I am quite sick of Icon due to uncommitted members and disorganized leaders. I love the club but hate the people with no passion.
Anyway, Samba's handover ceremony reminds us of our memories in Bukit Timah Campus. The new batch called us "oldies" cos we part the founder batch. Without Samba Masala and Bukit Timah Campus, SMU has no meaning to me. Among all students from my batch, I am one of the most senior students 'cos I came to SMU to attend bridging course to get admission. Technically, I joined SMU one semester earlier than all SMU students of my batch. But, I haven't said Student's Pledge so far haha... partly because of Samba. I joined Samba before my year one started and performed at Convocation to my batch students (or to myself). We practised in front of old library until 10 to 11 pm twice a week. There was one time a guy living near old campus complained and sent a lawyer letter to school. But, we persistenly practised and today Samba has performed in front of S'pore President and Prime Minister so many times as well as Corporates and community centre. Some more each player is paid around 50 bucks for one performance! Is the that main reason I love Samba? haha... Well, Samba has always been with me when I was lonely and down. Unlike other International students, my honeymoon period was long and my crisis period was very short. My loneliness was killed by Samba beat and my stess went away with the sweats during the traning. Thanks a lot to Samba last year when I was down during holidays. But for Samba, I would have had no courage to perform either by playing an instrument or acting during Mid-Autumn Festival.
But....today SMU is no longer in Bukit Timah Campus. Margaret is no longer our boss and Edison is not the president anymore. Geraldine, Jennifer, Banana, Victor, Derek, Pearlyn, Ba Nyar, Andrew, Cherylsss (don't know how many cheryl we have haha), Lian, Serah, Jeremy and of cos me are also no longer in Samba. But, our hearts will still be with Samba.

Last day at Bukit Timah Campus
