我的未來不是夢
It's been really long that I update my blog wholeheartedly. I'm so sorry to my buddies who keep in touch with me virtually here. Pat, I know I still owe you new songs. Koh-chan, I have a lot to share you my shakaijin experience, Stacy, Jimmy & Greg, I am counting my days to visit you soon. You must bring me to good ktv when I come haha....
I used to dream very high since young. Some think I'm too proud of myself or arrogant but I knew in my dictionary there is no space for the word "impossible". I think this kinda attitude has kept me strong though I've lived alone most of my life. But, I've lost that kinda drive since my only failure some time ago. Sometimes i told myself some things are not meant for me after that incident. Not only did I give it up, but I gave my own self-confidence up. I'm still questioning why I dare not dream something challenging. Since I started working, I've been even more discouraged as my life is very limited to home and work. I don't wanna say what my dream is but I hope I can realize it one day though it was mocked by my own teacher in middle school. Anyway, besides that big dream, I have other small dreams which I kinda gave up to realize. But believe it or not, sometimes a song can be a good stimulus for me to have my own self.
I've noticed 1 Taiwanese band called 蘇打綠 or Sodagreen on the radio and kinda like their song called "Little Love Song". Today FM93.3 aired one good old song of them to wish the leader singer's 26th birthday today. As usual, I googled and youtubed them and was mesmerized by the lead's singing style and voice though I still didn't know whether the lead is a male or female. Though I was searching for one song, I found another which obsessed me whole day.
Originally sung by 張雨生, the song title is too catchy for me, 我的未來不是夢. My Future Is Not A Dream! The lyric is so meaningful and are the different singers who sing this song in different versions. While I envy 蘇打綠's main lead's super wide range of voice and unique singing style, I am amazed by the super high pitch of the original singer張雨生. But, I can't help listening it again and again of 胡彥斌's version which is more lively. I love his arrangement and how he managed his voice to low down suddenly. In fact, his version is the first I've heard of this song.
Check it out 胡彥斌 我的未來不是夢
Don't look at the video. Listen first and guess whether the lead is male of female.
Another impressing MV is 馬英九's campaign for Taipei City Mayor Elections in 2002. If I were Taiwanese, I'd be touched by this video so much that I'd vote for him. I like how they sent the message across to the people that Taiwan Future is not just a dream.
After 6 years, Ma became the president of Taiwan and his supporter created another MV, though not officially used I guess, with this song. It's even more effective and amusing to see the frustrated now-opposition. Sorry Jimmy & Greg, I love you guys but I like the Blue's creativity during their campaigns. Click Here for the presidential campaign MV.
Impressed, I went to find who else sang this song. Interestingly, I found this English version.
English Version: My Future Is Not A Dream.
Not forgetting Singapore very own singing competition's winner singing this song with another guy.
Project Superstar
Why Darren's album wasn't a hit? Check out how a contestant at a Taiwanese singing competition (not the famous 超級星光大道) sang and you'll know. But, I'll give credit to his lively performance and dance movements.
Taiwan Super Idol Competition by 張芸京. Guess this is a guy or a girl.
