Where should I go?

Mood - upset and confused
Song - Super Woman

I attended exchange program talk for Spring 2006 today and was very upset to find that there are only 5 seats to go on exchange in Japan. Waseda, Kansai Gaidai and Keio are now closed. Sh*t lah... I wanna go to either Keio or Kansai. Minori suggested me to go to Keio cos they are so many J-pop stars haha.... Kansai is also fine cos it's near my once host family's house Hirakata where Rie is now staying. I am quite sad that I lost contact with my host family because of language and communication problems. So, this time when I go there, I want to search for them as well as visit my school. I miss Michiru, Miho, Reira and all AFSers. Now my hope is ...... hmm.... I hope I can be one of the 5 lucky guys to go to Japan. Does anyone know about Rikkyo Uni? They have 2 places for SMU students and Ritsumeikan APU has 3. APU is damn far from town but cheap. Rikkyo is in Tokyo and should be expensive but I need to fight with others for 2 seats. Stupid!

If I don't get Japan, where should I go? Korea? or Hong Kong? or Taiwan? Korea has amazingly 16 places, Hong Kong 18 and Taiwan 3. But Yonsei has only 2 and Korea 1 :( If I can't get these two, should I still go to Pusan or Inha (these two are confirmed easy to get)? I chatted with Jongeun just now and she was suggesting me not to come to Korea if I can't get Yonsei or Korea. But only 3 places leh!

How about Hong Kong? Brian, Lam, Arthur, Vince and Irene asked me to come. In terms of exchange buddies, Hong Kong is my first choice followed by Korea. But, it's too small to explore for a semester. What can I do there besides shopping and eating which I do everyday in Singapore? 5 months is too long to visit Disney Land lah... But, Hong Kong is cheap compared to Japan and Korea. Oh, I can't speak cantonese though.

My fourth t choice is Taiwan. This is the only way I can improve my Mandarin by living in a Chinese speaking society. Why don't I wanna go to China then? Well, although I've lived more than 2 years in Singapore, my Mandarin is super lousy cos I have difficulties reading simplied characters. The only time I can smile at Singaporeans is when we go to KTV where all songs are in traditional. :p Other reasons to go to Taiwan: it's the cheapest. The food is nice and more places to travel compared to Hong Kong. Most of my relatives are there, so I can have free lunches haha.... All my idols are Taiwanese stars. Minuses: I'm scared they don't have many courses in English. Although I wanna improve my Mandarin, I can't definitely take courses in Chinese. Except Anqi, I don't have any Taiwanese buddies. Taiwan might not be different from Singapore.

Other choices are the US or Canada. The States was my dream place to go once upone a time but I have visa problem and now I'm more into Asian cultures unless I go to UCSF. Canada -Patrick said it's not that fun there. But these two are the only English speaking country besides boring Aussie and super expensive UK. Europe is totally out of my picture cos I have no mood to study their language since I'm not into their culture.

I need to decide the country very soon. Can anyone suggest me? I can put 5 choices and of cos 1st choice will be given first priority by the office when they are choosing. So, should I take a risk and put Japan as my first choice, knowing the possibility is super low? Or, should I go to Korea, Hong Kong or Taiwan? Though Taiwan has only 3, most probably nobody will apply. For Korea and Hong Kong, most famous schools only offer 2 to 3 places. So, should I still take a risk by choosing these universities as my 2nd and 3rd choices. Again, priority will be given to those who put Korea or Hong Kong as first choice for those famous uni. Or, should I just safely put Inha or Pusan as first choice?

Haiz.... I'm really confused.

Btw, thanks YZ for sharing me this game. http://www.miniclip.com/blobs.htm and super woman by Gary on your blog. Actually I was listening Gary's other songs this afternoon but couldn't find Super Woman.

Japan, Taiwan and finally HK~

Korea is a nice place to go but judging from costs, language, and etc, i suppose you could shelf it off for a future holiday instead? Or maybe a job attachment.

Me considering to work overseas after graduation.. yeah. Considering.. haha.

To Jeffire:

Thanks Jeffire. Japan is still my first choice. Korea is more expensive and difficult to communicate compared to Taiwan or HK but hehe...I've got more Korean friends. Hmm... still considering what to put in my second choice.

Go to Japan to work after graduation lah. I also wanna go overseas after graudation if I don't have the bond with government.
