第一次

JB
Last Sat, I went to JB for the first time in my life though it's so near to S'pore. I went there with Tsuyoshi, Yoshihiko, Jidwiga (a polish girl), Inhee & Peter (Koreans) to shop whole day, bought DVDs (one of the main reasons of this trip) and ate seafoods. We didn't manage to go kart though, but the dinner was very cheap. 140 RM for 4 people - Black pepper & chilly crabs, curry prawn, swee & sour porks, fried broccoli and fried bums.

A beheaded frog on the street with its internal organs. (right) People didn't see and just stepped on it. So gross!

This is one of the Karaoke VCDs I bought. It's been a long time I listened to Wilber (actually before I came to S'pore). Besides this, I bought the dancing diva's Jolin, Lee Hom's concert, F.I.R., Cowboy Jay Chou. (Sorry to Jolin & Lee Hom! I know I shouldn't do this as your hardcore fan, but Lee Hom, I already bought your original CD. Jolin, I bought your original CD for last album but you haven't come to Singapore to promote this album. I'll buy your original when you come to S'pore, ok? Anyway, Karaoke Version for concert & MV are not that easily available in S'pore, so don't mind me!)

Polish Christmas
This is the first time in my life to celebrate X'mas with Christians. I went to Jidwiga's & Yoshi's house. Wiga invited her 2 polish friends working here & one polish guy who just arrived to celebrate the Polish Christmas. They invited one mixed Austrian-Japanese guy, one Nigerian, Tsuyoshi & me.

Before the dinner, we had to wish each other by eating the person's what-they-call-bread (which is eaten in Church) next to us and wishing him/her. At the same time that person eats ours and wished us back. I found it a very nice ice-breaking game (it's not supposed to be though. 'Cos in Poland, the dinner is for the family members so everyone knows each other.

The dinner's very international 'cos we had to cook our own food. So, I cooked chicken curry in Burmese+Japanese style. Normally it's similar to chicken curry in Singapore except for different curry powder. But, inspired by Sasa-sama's (my friend from Rikkyo) Japanese curry, I put carrots, egg plants, beans, corns & potatoes.

Left: Red plate- Peas & eggs (polish), white plate- Japanese porks, Pot - my curry, Blue Bowl - Pasta Salad (Polish), Steel plate - Dumpling (polish style)

According to Polish tradition, they have to eat 12 dishes on X'mas eve (including deserts & drinks). So the pics above are for the round 1.

Left: Polish soup - plain & sour soup with the Chinese-desert-look-alike-ball stuffed with something I don't know inside. The soup is not an Asian taste though.
Right: Nigerian so-called soup though it looks like a curry dish. I forgot to take pic first so all chickens inside were gone. The so-called spicy (though not spicy at all to me) dish is quite similar to other south-east asian dish.

That was round 2. After that there were 2 types of polish sausages bought by the new polish guy as well as sent by Wiga's father (homemade), and 2 types of fishes -salted one & sour one with some preserved vegetables (it looks like mui-choi though tastes are totally different). So round 3 ended with these food plus polish vodka (changed from normal one in round 1 & 2). Interesting thing is when Polish people drink, they drink alcohol in one cup & juice in another together without mixing in one cup.

Round 4 was desserts. I think it's fruit jelly but they call it jello. (I told the polish guy I only knew J-Lo :p) We were supposed to eat Polish cakes with nuts but everyone gave up and left at 1:30 am.

Everyone was taking picture, even in the kitchen - Wiga taking Yoshi & Tusyoshi cooking.

Nice House lit with candle lights. But, I heard everyone complaining the hot Christmas without snow! Well, this is Singapore! Temp's at least 25 on that day but they thought it's so low like -25 'C in Warsaw that they had to keep on drinking Vodka.
